The Story
 
1976
A boy's dream comes true. A BWB licence allows to race. 4 victories in 45 races are a first result ...
1979
Work and passion. A scholarship of a few months at 'Malec', a frame constructor who still works according to traditional methods. Getting prepared for the retail business, experience was obtained in basic skills such as welding, as well as in getting to work with specific tools. Filip Sport opens to the public on November 10th.
1983
The first Filip Sport road frames were manufactured
1985
Participating in Paris-Dakar together with fellow cyclist Bernard Hanciaux. No, not by bike but in a Toyota Landcruiser, we reached the Beach of Dakar in 44th position. Speaking about an experience !
1986 / 1988
The triathlon virus has struck, which resulted in an 8th place in the Belgian Championship ½ triathlon at La Roche and a 23th place in the ¾ triathlon of La Réunion
1987
Pioneer of mountain biking in Belgium. Creation of an own mountain bike range, organization of group rides at the Forêt des Soignes
1988
Import of the first Cannondale bike, an unknown brand for the Belgian and even the European public
1989
Specialized got introduced on the Belgian market. Filip Sport will be their best dealer in the Benelux for 3 years in a row

Meeting with Adrian Carter and distribution of his Pace aluminium frames
1990
Import of titanium Kona frames.

Won the first "24 hours of Brussels for mountain-bikers", together with B. Hanciaux, H. Van Essche and D. Persoons. An endurance race with teams of 4 bikers each, organized by TSO at the Forêt des Soignes and the race track of Groenendaal
1991
The first Jamis mountain bikes find their way to satisfied customers.

The Filip Sport mountain bike race was organized for the first time
1992
January 27, Filip Sport moves to its new location in the Kasteelstraat.

Import of Manitou frames, at that moment still 'handmade in Colorado' and the headstrong brand of the legendary Doug Bradbury

Introduction to Race Face, the beginning of a success story
1993
Filip Sport becomes the exclusive Benelux dealer for Jamis, an American constructor who produces attractive and light mountain and hybrid bikes with a homogenous assembly and an attractive price-quality ratio

Exclusive dealer for Race Face in Belgium. The Netherlands and the G. D. of Luxembourg followed soon after
1996 / 1997
New chapters were added to the import story. Entirely following the philosophy of Jamis and Race Face, Pearl Izumi and WTB (Wilderness Trail Bikes) were added. White Lightning, the most successful and revolutionary lubricant follows
1997
Aluminum is in! Filip Sport CX frames score an immediate success: "Made in Italy", nice workmanship, light tubeset, personalized colours and finishing. A bull's-eye

The craving for perfection: the philosophy of the prestigious Canadian brand Rocky Mountain perfectly matches our objectives. It's a perfect circle. Or not yet?
1998
The family continues to grow with the arrival of our mascotte ... which will have an impact on the future.
2000
XESCO: our own story as the sum of all the above. A Mountain Bike frame entirely made according to our own specifications. Are you ready for the test?
2001
Filip Sport becomes the Benelux distributor for Yeti, Swiss Eye and Schwalbe.

Filip Sport is the organisator of the Expo 5 bike exhibition.
2002

The Filip Sport website is selected by Skynet as "Business Site" of the week.

Filip Sport has been nominated for the trophy "Independent Entrepreneur of the Year".

2003
A sporting hybrid line as well as a SuperLite MTB frame are added to the Xesco product line.

The first prototypes of the RDL spare parts have been tested.

Launching of the TiX project.
2004

Filip Sport becomes the  Seven distributor for the Benelux.

First Xesco Meeting Day is organized in Harre.

The Xesco story continues with a carbon and an aluminium-carbon road frame.

The RDL spare parts are becoming available and gather quite some admirers and positive comments.

Expo5 grows and the fourth edition takes place in a hall of 4.200 m².

Filip Sport celebrates its 25th anniversary!!
